Saks Off 5th Announces Opening Date In Stamford
The 30,000-square-foot standalone store will feature a curated assortment of luxury designers alongside everyday favorites.

STAMFORD, CT — "Opening Soon" signs for Stamford's new Saks off 5th location have cropped up around 110 High Ridge Road, and now a date has been set for the official opening.
A spokesperson from Saks Off 5th confirmed with Patch this week that the new store, located at the site of the former Lord & Taylor, will open to the public on Oct. 27.
The 30,000-square-foot standalone store will employ approximately 60 people, and feature "a curated assortment of luxury designers alongside everyday favorites," Saks Off 5th said earlier this year.

Shoppers in Stamford will be able to buy online and pick up in store. There is a product lookup feature on the Saks Of 5th app, and customers can enroll in a loyalty program as well, the company said.
Saks Off 5th closed its doors at the Stamford Town Center in September 2021. The store there opened in 2015 and replaced Saks Fifth Avenue, which had been an original tenant of the building beginning in 1982. It closed at the STC in 2014.

"Our customers continue to share with us that the in-store experience is an important part of their shopping journey at Saks Off 5th," said Rob Brooks, president of O5, Saks OFF 5th’s store division, in a July news release. "We’re excited to return to the Stamford community and provide our loyal customers an enhanced shopping experience in an elevated environment with access to the designers they know and love."
The Stamford Lord & Taylor closed in early 2021 after the company filed for bankruptcy. The large parking lot then served as a mass COVID-19 vaccination site.
Whole Foods is also expected to move in at 110 High Ridge Road and occupy the first floor, although it's unclear at the moment when they will open.
The Stamford location would be the 11th Whole Foods Market in Connecticut. There are locations in Avon, Danbury, Darien, Fairfield, Glastonbury, Greenwich, Milford, Westport and West Hartford (two stores).
