Schoke Jewish Family Service Of Fairfield County Announces Upcoming Gala

The annual gala raises funds to support the Stamford-based organization's programs.

STAMFORD, CT — Schoke Jewish Family Service of Fairfield County will host "An Evening with Schoke JFS: Seeds for Tomorrow" on May 17, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at Whispering Oaks in Norwalk.

The annual gala raises funds to support the organization’s programs, which include mental health care, food security services, senior programs and crisis assistance for families across Fairfield County. Schoke JFS has served the region for more than 50 years.

During the event, the agency will present its 46th Annual Mitzvah Award to Wheel It Forward, a nonprofit that lends durable medical equipment at no cost to residents throughout Fairfield County. Since its founding in 2020, the organization has served more than 7,000 families annually, managing more than 18,000 items and diverting more than 100,000 pounds of equipment from landfills.

The Community Service Award will be presented to Ben Frimmer, a Tony-nominated producer, theater educator and longtime emergency medical services leader. Frimmer has served with Westport EMS since 1985 and is deputy chief of Weston Volunteer EMS, while remaining active in regional emergency response training and the arts community.
