Sentence Handed Down In Fatal Greenwich Hit-And-Run: Report

Andrew Schmidt was the driver in the fatal crash that killed Edward Setterberg.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich resident Andrew Schmidt was sentenced to two years in prison in connection with the fatal 2016 hit-and-run crash that killed 43-year-old Edward Setterberg, reports the Stamford Advocate.

Schmidt pleaded guilty in September, and in a statement read in court, he apologized for his actions and said he hopes to lead a productive life after he gets out of prison. The 19-year-old faced a maximum of three years in prison.

In the April 2016 crash, Schmidt's vehicle struck Setterberg as he was walking on East Putnam Avenue. After striking Setterberg, Schmidt drove off.
