Several Cars Found On Fire Inside Stamford Parking Garage: SFD
Firefighters were called to a hotel parking garage shortly after 5 a.m., Thursday, according to the Stamford Fire Department.

STAMFORD, CT — Several cars caught fire Thursday morning inside the parking garage of the Armon Hotel located at 2701 Summer St., according to Stamford officials.
The fire was brought under control, but the parking garage structure was compromised from the flames. The Stamford Fire Marshal's investigation into the cause of the fires is currently in a "holding pattern," an update from Mayor Caroline Simmons' office said Thursday afternoon.
City engineering and building officials are working on the reinforcement of the structural integrity of impacted areas within the garage. Once the area is safe, the investigation will continue.

Additional calls were received reporting several cars on fire in the parking garage located at the back of the hotel. Hotel guests were evacuated away from the garage.
Firefighters found multiple cars on fire on the bottom floor of the garage, the SFD said. Up to eight cars were engulfed, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Firefighters immediately stretched multiple hose lines and began extinguishing the vehicles while also trying to cool the structural supports for the garage, the SFD said.
After assessing the scene, the SFD safety officer noticed the parking garage structure was compromised, and ordered all firefighters to evacuate. Units continued to pour water and foam onto the cars from outside the open air garage.
No injuries were reported.
