SPS Appoints Assistant Director Of Special Education, Related Services

Lindsey Pontieri comes to Stamford Public Schools from Greenwich.

STAMFORD, CT — Lindsey Pontieri has joined Stamford Public Schools as the new assistant director of special education and related services, according to an announcement from the district.

Pontieri, who spent the past four years as assistant principal at Central Middle School in Greenwich, started in her new role July 18. Pontieri served as a special education teacher at Greenwich Alternative High School before moving to Western Middle School, where she spent three years as a seventh and eighth grade special education teacher.

"Lindsey's experience as both an assistant principal and as a special education teacher will serve her well in her new role with us," said Meghan Osowiecki, the director of special education and related services for SPS. "Coming from another school district, will bring a different viewpoint that will help us as we strive to achieve our department's goals."

Pontieri graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science from SUNY Oswego and earned a master’s degree in special education from Dowling College. She holds an education leadership certificate from Sacred Heart University.
