Stamford 2016-2017 Public School Calendar

You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2016-2017 school year in the Stamford Public School system.

First day of school: Sept. 1
Labor day: Sept. 5 (no school)
Rosh Hashanah: Oct. 3-4 (no school)
Columbus Day: Oct. 10 (no school)
Yom Kippur: Oct. 12 (no school)

Early release for professional development: Oct. 19
Election Day: Nov. 8 (no school for students)

Veteran's Day: Nov. 11 (no school)

Early release: Nov. 23:

Thanksgiving break: Nov. 24-27

Early release for professional development: Nov. 30

Early release for elementary conferences: Dec. 14, 15, 16

Early release: Dec. 23

Holiday break: Dec. 24-Jan. 2

Martin Luther King Day (no school): Jan. 16

Early release for professional development: Jan. 25

Winter break: Feb. 16-21 (16th is professional development for teachers.)

Elementary early release for conferences: March 15,16,17

Early release for professional development: March 29

Spring break: April 8-16

Early release for professional development: April 26

Memorial Day (no school): May 29

Early release for professional development: May 31

Early release: June 14, 15, 16. June 16 is tentative last day of school.
