Stamford Business Vandalized Several Times In Recent Weeks: Police
The business is the former employer of Michael Talbot, the man who was charged in the December 2022 double-fatal pedestrian crash.

STAMFORD, CT — The Plug, a high-end sneaker and designer clothing store on Bedford Street in Stamford, has been vandalized several times over the past few weeks, according to the Stamford Police Department.
The business is the former employer of Michael Talbot, the 24-year-old Greenwich resident who was arrested and charged in the December 2022 double-fatal pedestrian crash on Washington Boulevard.
"The window has been broken three times in the last five weeks," Sgt. Sean Scanlan of the SPD's Property Crimes Unit told Patch in an email. "We have spoken to the owner and are working with him to see how we can bring this to an end."

Security footage obtained by Patch shows someone throwing a heavy object through the glass door of The Plug on Feb. 19. The camera faces the front door from the inside, and the image of the person, who quickly runs away, is not clear.
According to a December post from The Plug's Instagram account by store owner Taylor Tobias, Talbot's employment was immediately terminated and he was not allowed on the premises following the crash that killed Giovanni Vega-Benis and Yuliana Arias-Lozano, both 25-year-old Stamford residents.

Charges weren't initially filed against Talbot in the days after the Dec. 3 crash, causing outrage in the community as residents demanded action from police.
Talbot was arrested in Florida in early January.
Tobias told News 12 Connecticut this week he understands the anger in the community.
"Horrible situation. I mean there's so many people involved, so many families involved, the victims. Even Mike's family. He has two kids," Tobias told News 12 CT.
The news outlet also reported that Tobias is planning on changing the name of the store in the coming weeks.
