Stamford Contractor Under Investigation Has Contract Extended with Schools

The company is under federal and local investigation.

STAMFORD, CT—AFB Construction Management will continue to manage school facilities for at least another month after its short-term contract was extended.

The company's agreement with the Board of Education was set to expire. Interim Chief Operations Officer Bill Dunn said it was necessary to ensure a smooth transition to facilities operation, according to the Stamford Advocate.

AFB is under local and federal investigation after allegations of extortion were raised. AFB has managed school facilities for about 18 years and has been the only bidder on the contract for about a decade.
