Stamford Cops Find 2 Pounds Of Marijuana During Traffic Stop: PD

Officers smelled "a very strong odor of marijuana" coming from inside of the suspect's vehicle.

STAMFORD, CT — A 21-year-old Stamford man was arrested on multiple narcotics charges last week after Stamford police said officers found 2 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle after a routine traffic stop.

Jessy Pedraza, of Houston Terrace, was charged with the following:

  • Possession of marijuana with intent to sell
  • Operating a drug factory
  • Possession of marijuana

After pulling over Pedraza on Jan. 17, officers smelled "a very strong odor of marijuana" coming from inside of Pedraza's vehicle, and Pedraza admitted to having smoked pot earlier that day, police said in a Facebook post.

Officers found the pot during a search of the vehicle, and also found "89 THC filled vaping cartridges."

Pedraza was taken into custody and held in lieu of bail of $15,000. He is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Jan. 30.

"The Stamford Police Department is very proud of the work of Officers Becroft and Landry," officials wrote. "They took a lot of marijuana and THC vaping cartridges off the street. Great work."
