Stamford Coronavirus Updates: City Has 2,983 Confirmed Cases

City officials also noted Stamford has had "170 reported deaths attributed to COVID-19 cases" as of May 14, 2020.

STAMFORD, CT — City officials announced Thursday evening there have been 2,983 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Stamford as of May 14, according to state Department of Public Health. That number is up from the 2,958 confirmed cases of the virus, also referred to as COVID-19, reported by the state a day prior, city officials said.

In the city's daily "COVID-19 situation newsletter," officials also noted the state's interactive dashboard that tracks cases and deaths across the entire state indicates Stamford has had "170 reported deaths attributed to COVID-19 cases" as of May 14.

The Stamford Town Center announced plans Tuesday to reopen to the public on May 20 at 11 a.m. The mall will operate under preliminary hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the announcement, the mall will reopen on a reduced daily schedule to help meet the needs of the community and "place customer health and safety above all else."

City officials also remind residents Stamford Public Schools has not reached a final decision regarding the 2020 graduation yet, however the district is expected to announce a decision "within the coming week."
