Stamford Coronavirus Updates: Courthouse Temporarily Closed

Court officials said the decision was made after learning some employees may have been exposed to the virus.

STAMFORD, CT — As of Wednesday, the Stamford Courthouse is temporarily closed to the public until further notice, Chief Court Administrator Patrick L. Carroll III announced in a statement Tuesday evening. Carroll said he made the decision out of an abundance of caution after receiving information Tuesday that some employees at the Stamford-Norwalk Judicial District Courthouse may have been exposed to another employee who was exhibiting symptoms associated with the new coronavirus.

According to Carroll, the closing will allow for a "comprehensive cleaning and sanitization" of the courthouse. (To sign up for Stamford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
