STAMFORD, CT — As the weather warms up and more people will be out and about in downtown Stamford, a "foot patrol" initiative is being launched in conjunction with the Stamford Police Department.

According to their monthly newsletter for May, Stamford Downtown said it has partnered with several downtown property owners to fund a dedicated foot patrol from the SPD.

"The purpose of this foot patrol is to reinforce the sense of safety along downtown’s main walking streets," Stamford Downtown said in its newsletter. "The foot patrol will supplement Stamford Downtown’s partnership with DOMUS by providing community policing services along the Bedford and Atlantic Street corridor between Veterans Memorial Park and Spring Street."
