Stamford Driver Left Sleeping Child, 6, In City Van: Norwalk Police
The man is accused of leaving a 6-year-old child in the van after it was locked up for the night, according to police.
NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk Housing Authority van driver was arrested Thursday after police said he left a 6-year-old child in the van in May.
Norwalk police responded to a call on May 15 of a 6-year-old child who didn’t return home from after-school activities that were sponsored by the Norwalk Housing Authority, according to officials.
Police said officers found the child asleep in the Housing Authority passenger van parked in their lot.

An investigation found that Vladimir Galette was the Housing Authority van driver at the time and had “failed to adhere to Housing Authority protocols by not checking the van for passengers before securing it for the evening,” police wrote in a news release.
Galette, 47, of Stamford, was arrested July 4 on a warrant and charged with second-degree reckless endangerment. He was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond with a court date of July 15.
