Stamford Election Results 2018: Blumenthal, Bergstein Win
Residents are voting to elect a new governor and are also casting their ballots on key local and state races and a U.S. Senate seat.

STAMFORD, CT — Jim Himes, the Democratic incumbent, has won re-election to represent the 4th Congressional District, Patch and media outlets are reporting.
Himes defeated Republican Harry Arora, who also appeared on the Independent party line.

In the 147th House District: Democrat Matt Blumenthal, son of U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, defeated Republican Anzelmo Graziosi for William Tong's former post, writes the Stamford Advocate. Tong ran for Attorney General, and may have eeked out a close win over Republican Sue Hatfield, according to the Hartford Courant and unofficial results from the Secretary of State's office.
Also locally in Stamford, the decision in the 36th Senatorial District was not settled until Wednesday morning, with Democrat Alexandra "Alex" Bergstein defeating incumbent Republican L. Scott Frantz.
For the 27th Senatorial District, incumbent Democrat Carlo Leone won re-election over challenger Jerry Bosak, a Republican, and Cora M. Santaguida, Green Party, according to the Advocate.
Stamford residents also voted for these state representative races: 149th House District incumbent Livvy Floren, Republican Party, who was unopposed; and 144th House District incumbent Caroline Simmons, Democratic Party, who also was unopposed.
Other Stamford races that had not yet been announced:
- 146th House District David Michel, Democratic Party, versus Dan Pannone, Republican Party. Incumbent Terry Adams did not seek re-election.
- 148th House District: Daniel J. Fox, Democratic Party, versus Philip Balestriere, Republican Party. Fox was the incumbent.
- 145th House District: Patricia Billie Miller, Democratic Party, versus Fritz Blau, Republican Party. Miller was the incumbent.
For the Stamford Board of Education, Democrat David Mannis (incumbent) was defeated by Jackie Pioli, reports the Advocate. Petitioning candidates (and incumbents) Frank Cerasoli and Mike Altamura were also expected to prevail.
For Judge of Probate, incumbent Democrat Gerald Fox III is unopposed.

The candidates for lieutenant governor are: Susan Bysiewicz, Democrat, Joe Markley, Republican, Jeffrey Thibeault, Libertarian Party, John Demitrus, Amigo Constitution Liberty Party, and Monte E Frank, Griebel Frank for CT Party.
The choices for the U.S. Senate race are: Matthew Corey, Republican Party, Christopher S. Murphy, Democratic Party, Richard Lion, Libertarian Party, and Jeff Russell, Green Party
In the Secretary of State race the choices are: Denise W Merrill, Democratic Party, Susan Chapman, Republican Party, Heather Lynn Sylvestre Gwynn, Libertarian Party, and Michael DeRosa, Green Party.
In the race for State Treasurer the choices are: Shawn Wooden, Democratic Party, Thad Gray, Republican Party, and Jesse Brohinsky, Libertarian Party.
For the position of State Comptroller the choices are: Kurt Miller, Republican Party, Kevin Lembo, Democratic Party, Paul Passarelli, Libertarian Party, and Edward G Heflin, Green Party.
For the position of Attorney General the choices are: William Tong, Democratic Party, Sue Hatfield, Republican Party, Peter D. Goselin, Green Party.
