Stamford FC 2013 Girls Crowned Northeast Regional Champions, Headed to Nationals
Local team seeks to cap off an amazing run
STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford FC 2013 Girls soccer team has done it again. Following a historic 2025 season where they captured both Connecticut Cups, the team secured the 2026 State Cup and has now been crowned the USYS Northeast Presidents Cup Regional Champions. With this victory, they are officially heading to Wichita, Kansas, to compete in the National Presidents Cup from July 7th–11th.
The team's signature skill, intensity, and resiliency were on full display all season long. Originally formed in 2020 under the guidance of Coach Brian Coronado and Director of Coaching Tony Crocco, the squad—alongside assistant coach Jaden Alday—led an incredible, undefeated run through both the Regional Academy League and the State Cup.
The team's Fall 2025 CT Cup victory qualified them for the USYS Northeast Regional Presidents Cup, held from June 18th–21st in Simsbury, CT. In group play, Stamford faced three highly ranked opponents. Following an impressive 6-1 victory in the opener, the team battled to a solid draw in their second match. While a tough loss in the final match of group play tested their resolve, it didn't derail their momentum. Stamford bounced back to reach the finals, ultimately defeating the Highland Elite Swarm in an intense 3-0 shutout to punch their ticket to Kansas.
