Stamford Firefighters Rescue 9 Ducklings From Catch Basin

The rescue was performed under the "watchful eye and approval" of the ducklings' mother, firefighters said.

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford firefighters are always willing to help out anyone in need, including animals. On Thursday, firefighters from Engine Company 5 helped Stamford Animal Control officers safely rescue nine ducklings from a catch basin on Summer Street.

The rescue was performed under the "watchful eye and approval" of the ducklings' mother, who kept an eye on firefighters as they freed her babies.

A video posted to Facebook showed firefighters help animal control officers scoop the ducklings out of the catch basin using a crate, which was able to drain the water within the area while picking the animals up.
