Stamford Firm Is Named Winner of Healthy Workplaces Award

Business Council of Fairfield County recognizes the company as gold winner in its Healthy Workplaces Employer Recognition Program.

The Business Council of Fairfield County has recognized CBP, a Stamford-based benefits and risk consulting firm, as a Gold winner in its Healthy Workplaces Employer Recognition Program.

CBP received the Gold distinction for its employee wellness initiatives, which include a 30-day fitness challenge and weekly meditation sessions aimed at improving stress levels.

“We place great emphasis on the success of our employee wellness program, given wellness is a core service we provide to our clients. We understand first-hand the correlation between employee wellness and a more productive workplace, and we value this award because it is evidence that we are practicing what we preach to our clients,” said Andrea Davis, CBP Wellness Manager.

CBP helps clients design comprehensive and cost-effective wellness solutions to help employees and their families lead healthier lives, for just pennies a day. According to The Business Council of Fairfield County, employers realize increased productivity and reduced direct healthcare costs when they offer health and wellness programs to employees. The Healthy Workplaces Employer Recognition Program honors employers that understand the competitive advantage of a healthy workforce and implement programs to promote a healthy workplace and assist their employees to live healthier lives.

“We have learned, not surprisingly, that more than two-thirds of health care spending is linked to behaviors that ultimately make us unhealthy. We have also learned that productivity and health care costs are equally linked to health,” commented Tanya Court, Vice President, Public Policy and Programs, The Business Council of Fairfield County. “As costs related to health care escalate, business has responded in a variety of ways. Just as our recognition program has evolved, so too have the many ways our workforces have engaged on wellness.”
