Stamford High School To Host CT Debate State Finals

This is the first time in over a decade that Stamford Public Schools is hosting the state finals.

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford High School will be hosting the Connecticut Debate Association State Finals tournament for the 2022-23 season on Saturday, March 25.

The in-person tournament follows a parliamentary format and features high school students who qualified throughout the year by finishing in the top five at a statewide tournament. This is the first time in over a decade that Stamford Public Schools is hosting the state finals.

Stamford will be well-represented on Saturday.

SHS will have 14 students competing; Academy of Information Technology & Engineering is sending 10 students, and eight students from Westhill High School will participate.

  • 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.: Round 1-4 (classrooms)
  • 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Final round (SHS Auditorium)
  • 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Awards ceremony (SHS Auditorium)
