Stamford Home Destroyed by 75-Foot Tree

A man stepped out of his home minutes before a tree smashed into it.

STAMFORD, CT- A homeowner's decision to take his dog for a walk may have saved his life after a 75-foot-tall tree destroyed a home on Elmbrook Drive Sunday.

Sunday's windy weather brought down the tree, which landed right on the home, according to the Stamford Advocate. The man's wife had stepped out to go to the gym earlier.

Some of the couple's personal belongings were retrieved from the home, but it has since been condemned.
