Stamford Man's Death A Homicide: Police

Police said a homicide investigation has been launched following the death of a 37-year-old man in Stamford.

STAMFORD, CT — Police said a homicide investigation has been launched following the death of a 37-year-old man Sunday evening in Stamford.

Police said an officer was flagged down around 9 p.m. by a concerned resident reporting a man down on the sidewalk. The officer then located the man with multiple stab wounds along the 100 block of Stillwater Avenue, police said. (To sign up for Stamford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

"Stamford fire and EMS [crews] responded and administered aid to the victim, however the victim succumbed to [his] injuries and was pronounced deceased by paramedics," police said in a statment.

Police have not released the identity of the man yet.

The department's Major Crimes Unit is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact the unit at 203-977-4417.
