Stamford Homicide Victim's Husband to be Extradited to Connecticut

He is a person of interest in his wife's death.

STAMFORD, CT — The husband of a woman who was found dead in a Stamford apartment will be extradited to the state this week.

Elmer Gomez Ruano, 32, is a person of interest in the homicide of his wife Dionicia Bautista-Cano. Their 5-year-old daughter was found wandering alone at a Port Authority Bus Terminal in November.

He will be picked up by Stamford officers in Manhattan Thursday, according to the Stamford Advocate. He waived extradition in exchange for dismissal of a child endangerment charge.

Stamford Police went to a Courtland Avenue apartment after being notified by police that a 5-year-old girl found alone at the Midtown Bus terminal in New York City.

There was an apparent struggle at the apartment.
