STAMFORD, CT — Stamford will soon increase fines for violating the city's noise ordinance from $90 per incident to $250 per hour. The Board of Representatives unanimously approved the change on the consent agenda last week.

Additionally, the Stamford Police Department can now enforce the noise ordinance. It was previously enforced by health inspectors.

According to News 12 Connecticut, Eric Morson (D-13), deputy majority leader of the Board of Reps., said there was a specific concern with the South End of Stamford where residents were able to hear late-night noise from restaurants and bars.
