Stamford Land Conservation Trust To Celebrate 50 Years

The SLCT will celebrate its golden anniversary with a special event on Oct. 12.

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Land Conservation Trust is celebrating 50 years of protecting open space with a family-friendly event at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center’s Knobloch Farmhouse. Mayor Caroline Simmons will be among the guests.

The event will be held at 151 Scofieldtown Road on Oct. 12 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Plenty of parking will be available. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

SLCT was founded in 1972 with the mission to preserve and protect open space for the benefit of the community, as well as the sustainability of our environment.

SLCT currently stewards over 450 acres of open space in Stamford. Our 47 preserves and five easements border over 500 properties throughout Stamford.

The preserves are comprised of over 61 parcels and range from 1 acre in size to the 164-acre Altshul Preserve.
