Stamford, Lets Stamp Out Hunger Together!
Stamford residents are encouraged to leave a bag of nonperishable foods by their mailbox on the morning of Saturday May 10th.
Saturday, May 10th, is your chance to make a real difference in the lives of our community. On this day, the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive, organized by the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), will be in full swing, and your participation is more crucial than ever.
The concept is simple yet powerful: your letter carrier will be doing more than just delivering your mail. They'll also be collecting donations of non-perishable food items left by your mailbox.
To participate, all you need to do is gather any shelf-stable food items you can spare – think canned goods like meat, beans, pasta, rice, cereal, peanut butter and jelly, etc. Please take a moment to check expiration dates to ensure your donation is usable, and remember to avoid glass containers for safety during transport.

This year, there's also a wonderful opportunity to support The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County with fresh produce. You can donate fresh fruits and vegetables in your letter carriers honor by visiting the food bank's website or clicking here. This is a fantastic way to contribute nutritious options that are often in high demand.
Your generosity on May 10th will directly help replenish the shelves and ensure that individuals and families facing food insecurity in Fairfield county have access to the nourishment they need.
