Stamford Man Charged After Shooting Incident In Norwalk: Police

No one was injured in the May 24 incident.

NORWALK, CT — A 28-year-old Stamford man was arrested on weapons charges Sunday night after police said he fired a handgun in the air on Garner Street in Norwalk.

Timothy Summons Jr., of Amelia Place, was charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, reckless endangerment, and breach of peace following the 9:40 p.m. incident.

According to police, officers were sent to Garner Street on a report that a man was firing a handgun in the air.

"When officers arrived on scene they located an individual matching the description of the suspect," Norwalk police said. "The suspect, Timothy Simmons Jr, was detained and officers located a handgun in his pocket. After officers investigated they located shell casings on scene."

Additional details about the shooting were not disclosed.

No injuries were reported, and police said that it "appears to be an isolated incident."
