Stamford Man Charged With Girlfriend's Beating: PD

The woman went to police headquarters with injuries.

STAMFORD, CT — A local man was charged with beating and strangling his live-in girlfriend, according to police.

Anthony Dimaio was held in lieu of $300,000 bond, according to the Stamford Advocate.

His girlfriend went to police headquarters with injuries and was taken to Stamford Hospital. Police learned tat Dimaio keeps three guns in the household, but they only found bullets and magazines, police said. A judge ordered Dimaio to turn in any guns or he risks a felony charge.

Dimaio told police he only keeps magazines and bullets because he sometimes goes shooting with friends.
