Stamford Man Dies at Bridgeport Correctional
Lugens Telsaint, 20, was reportedly playing a supervised basketball with about 15 other inmates when he suddenly collapsed for unknown reasons.

A Stamford man who was arrested on assault charges in July for allegedly died suddenly Tuesday while being held at Bridgeport Correctional Center.
According to an article in the Stamford Advocate, Lugens Telsaint, 20, was playing a supervised basketball with about 15 other inmates when he suddenly collapsed for unknown reasons. He was transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
As originally reported on Stamford Patch, Telsaint, of 57 Connecticut Ave., was arrested and charged with second-degree assault in July for allegedly assaulting another Stamford man with a large stick.

In the report, 's Sgt. Robert Shawinsky said "the victim was sitting at 8 Myano Ct. when a Haitian male known only to him as 'Lugens' approached him at 6 p.m. on July 27. Apparently, they had a dispute several weeks ago over a basketball game. The complainant stated that Lugens was there to provoke him into a fight."
Police said during the provocation, Telsaint picked up a "log" from nearby and struck the male victim in the eye. Telsaint then ran off and the victim called police. Police located Telsaint the following day and, after the victim picked him out of a line up, arrested him.

Telsaint was scheduled to next appear in Stamford Superior Court on November 16, according to the report.
