STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons is "feeling back to normal" after a visit to the hospital last week for lightheadedness, according to Lauren Meyer, a special assistant to the mayor.

Simmons was "slightly under the weather" last week, according to Meyer, and felt lightheaded following her presentation to the Senior Men's Association of Stamford on Thursday, Jan. 4.

Out of an abundance of caution, emergency medical services were called and Simmons was taken to the hospital where she tested negative for COVID-19 and influenza, Meyer said.
