Stamford Mayor Proclaims May 19 National Kids To Parks Day
The 8th annual event is part of the initiative by the National Park Trust.

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Mayor David R. Martin has proclaimed May 19, 2018, Kids to Parks Day (KTP Day) in Stamford, part of the 8th annual initiative by the National Park Trust, in which hundreds of thousands of children and families nationwide are expected to participate.
The trust is working with cities and partners across the country on KPT Day to connect kids and families with their local, state, and national parks. Hundreds of KTP Days are hosted nationwide, including in Stamford. Through teaching the next generation to appreciate our public lands, National Park Trust is working to foster future park enthusiasts and create the next generation of park stewards.
Mayor Martin encourages residents to attend Stamford’s free KTP Day event, which is being organized by Stamford Recreation Services.

“We have wonderful parks, playgrounds, and recreation areas in Stamford that provide excellent spaces for outdoor play. I invite all Stamford city residents to join Stamford Recreation Services department outdoors on May 19th, for Kids to Parks Day,” said Mayor Martin in a statement.
Residents are invited to join in the nationwide movement for an afternoon of fun at Scalzi Park. Children ages 2-14 can enjoy bounce houses, obstacle courses, healthy snacks provided by the Stamford Health KIDS’ FANS program and more:
