Stamford PD: We Have the DUI Checkpoint Notice Under Control

Stamford Police spotted a man holding a homemade sign warning motorists of a nearby DUI checkpoint. They already got it covered.

STAMFORD, CT- Stamford Police posted a message on Facebook letting people know that they give motorists a heads-up about nearby DUI checkpoints.

"The Stamford Police Department respects citizens’ rights of free speech, however we already post signs warning motorists of our checkpoints and do not need any more assistance," police said on Facebook.

The ultimate goal of the checkpoints is safety and to encourage intoxicated motorists to use an alternate means of transportation to get home safely.
