STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Police Department will launch a new session of its Citizen Police Academy in March, offering residents an inside look at how the department operates and how officers carry out day-to-day law enforcement duties.

The program begins Wednesday, March 4, and will run weekly on Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at police headquarters. Sessions will include classroom instruction, demonstrations and discussions led by department personnel.

According to police, topics will include patrol operations, criminal investigations, use-of-force policies, community policing efforts and the work of specialized units. Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a patrol ride-along.
