Stamford Police Dispel Rumors Of 'Shootout' In High Ridge Area
Police said an arrest was made as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation this week, but reports of a shootout or gunfire are false.

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Police Department on Thursday dispelled rumors of a "shootout" that was said to have occurred in the High Ridge area on Wednesday.
"We want to assure the public that no such incident occurred," police said in a news release. "An arrest was made in the High Ridge area as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation that involved the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Stamford Police Special Response Team. However, any claims of a shootout or gunfire are completely false."
