Stamford Police Wrestled Man with Fake Gun While Riding Elevator: PD
More details from Wednesday's fiasco at the mall. Some diligent police work led officers to make the arrest.

STAMFORD, CT—Police personnel are being commended by Mayor David Martin after some diligent police work culminated with a police lieutenant and officer wrestling a facsimile gun out of the hands of a man while riding an elevator up and down, according to police.
A citizen reported seeing a man hold a black gun to the side of his head and pull the trigger in the Grey Rock Place parking garage, according to the Stamford Advocate. Police grabbed a video still of the man and used video camera system in the mall to track the suspect.
Lt. Diedrich Hohn and Officer Luis Velez spotted the man as he attempted to exit an elevator. They saw he had a black gun and wrestled him to the floor of the elevator. The elevator went up and down several times during the struggle.

Mohmed Boumazzourn, 29, was charged with carrying and brandishing a facsimile firearm, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and breach of peace.
