Stamford Public Schools' Administrator Of The Year Named

The Connecticut Association of School Administrators, a professional organization, made the selection.

From SPS: Stamford Public Schools (SPS) announced Stamford Public School Director of Curriculum and Instruction Natalie Elder McClarty was recently named “Stamford Administrator of the Year” by the Connecticut Association of School Administrators (CASA). CASA, a professional organization open to all Connecticut school administrators, recognized McClarty among seven Connecticut administrators, each nominated by their district, at the organizations’ annual dinner in North Haven, Conn., last week.

According to the organization, the award was created to give more positive recognition to deserving administrators. Nominations were accepted from any of the 40 member districts.

Members of the executive board of the Stamford Administrative Unit chose McClarty from among all of its administrators to represent Stamford for CASA’s award.

“Natalie is a gifted and talented educator whose reputation as a principal of a turnaround school in Tennessee caught my attention well before she came to Stamford,” said SAU secretary and Newfield Principal Lisa Saba-Price. “Her many accomplishments here, including school improvement planning, all-district professional development creation and K-5 literacy revamp, demonstrate her premise of excellence, not average, for all children.”

“In my 37 years as an educator, I have received numerous awards and acknowledgements but none of those mean as much to me as being recognized by one’s peers,” said McClarty.
