“The experience of working in a different school community and culture, with a new principal mentor is an opportunity for each of them to bring their strengths to a new team, experience new challenges and learn new approaches to leadership,” said Dr. Michael Fernandes, Associate Superintendent for Intervention and Student Support. “It is also an opportunity for our assistant principals to learn and grow as building leaders.”
These moves are part of the district’s long term strategy in preparing assistant principals for future leadership positions and also in expanding internal professional development opportunities that relate to theStamford Public School’s mission as a learning organization.
