Stamford Public Schools Closed Friday Due To Weather
Icy conditions are impacting the morning commute on Friday. Snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain are expected to continue this afternoon.

STAMFORD, CT — Classes have been canceled in Stamford on Friday because of the inclement weather.
According to the National Weather Service, rain, freezing rain, and sleet is expected to continue throughout the day with a high near 37. Wind chill values are expected to be between 20 and 30.
Total daytime ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch is possible, with sleet accumulation of less than one inch.
The complex weather forecasts and a day with bus staffing issues have required Stamford Public Schools to cancel classes on Dec. 23, Jan. 5, 7, 20, Feb 4 and now Feb. 25.

In her weekly message to the school district last week, Superintendent Dr. Tamu Lucero said these days will have to be made up at the end of the year. As of now, the last day of school is scheduled for June 20, 2022.
