Stamford Public Schools To Hold Public Meetings On Safety, Security

The two meetings are scheduled for this week at the Stamford Government Center and Strawberry Hill School.

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Public Schools will hold two community conversations on school safety and security this week.

"If you want to learn more about our efforts to provide a safe and secure learning environment for our students—as well as what you can do to help—please plan to attend one of these meetings," SPS Superintendent Dr. Tamu Lucero said in her most recent weekly message to the community.

One meeting is planned for Monday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. during Café con la Super at the Stamford Government Center, fourth floor, 888 Washington Blvd. Guests will include SPS Director of Security Joe Kennedy, Lt. Jerry Junes of the Stamford Police Department, and Stamford Director of Public Safety, Health and Welfare Lou DeRubeis. The meeting will be presented in Spanish with interpretation to English. The second meeting is set for 6 p.m. on Oct. 10 at Strawberry Hill School. Kennedy will be in attendance, along with Associate Superintendent Angela Asaro, a representative of the Stamford Police Department, and other city and school officials.

The meeting will be presented in English with interpretation to Spanish and Haitian-Creole. Registration can be found here.
