Stamford Rec Announces Early Childhood Education Program
Stamford Recreation Services announces they will be offering a new early childhood education program for children ages 3-4

Beginning September 2018, Stamford Recreation Services will begin offering a new early childhood program"Stay & Play" at the Stamford Recreation Star Center, located at 1170 Shippan Avenue. Children will gain independence & self-confidence in a play-based approach to early learning focused on socialization and cooperation. This hands on active environment will encourage exploration and discovery. Activities will include creative expression, dramatic play, music and movement, large and small motor activities, early literacy, sensory activities, math readiness and outdoor play.The "Stay & Play" program will be directed by Karen Wenz and Beth Covino who have over 45 years of combined experience in early childhood education teaching and directing at various preschools.
The program will be heldMonday, Wednesday & Friday from 9:00am – 12:00pm from September 12th, 2018 through June 7th, 2019 - following the Stamford Public School calendar.The cost of the program will be $3,900.00 per child (payment plans available). Also, there are opportunities for discounted tuition for families enrolling multiple children or for families that qualify for the Stamford Public School Free and Reduced Lunch Program.
Registration for the program begins April 2, for a maximum of 20 children.
Any child that will turn three years old before September 1st, 2018 is eligible to sign up for this program. If a child is not three at the time of registration, you will need to register with a birth certificate at the Stamford Recreation Office. For more information, visit the
