STAMFORD, CT — Aflac Incorporated has recognized District Sales Coordinator Mike Zilinski, a Stamford resident, as a recipient of its 2025 Aflac Agents of Care Award, honoring employees for community service and philanthropy.

Zilinski was one of six winners selected nationwide, according to a news release. The award was announced Jan. 7 during FOCUS, the company’s annual sales conference, where Zilinksi was presented with a $10,000 check to support his charitable work.

According to the company, Zilinski was nominated by colleagues for his involvement with local nonprofit organizations, particularly efforts supporting children with special needs and serious health challenges. He is a leader with The Umbrella Club, a Stamford-based volunteer group that provides financial assistance to families in crisis. A news release said annual net donations increased by more than $100,000 over three years during his involvement.

In addition to fundraising, Zilinski serves on the group’s Good and Welfare Committee, delivering financial aid and support directly to families.

"I joined the Umbrella Club when I moved to Stamford," said Zilinski in a news release. "I joined to help families dealing with serious health and development challenges. Because we are an all-volunteer organization with low overhead, we can give almost 90 percent of every dollar raised back to the children and families. Helping others alongside my friends is a pretty good deal."

Zilinski also supports ARI of Connecticut, which serves adults with disabilities, and participates in hospital fundraising events and cancer walks, according to Aflac.
