Stamford Restaurant Hires New Catering/Assistant General Manager
Among her accomplishments, Kerri Nelson opened the first Barnes & Noble restaurant in the country, Barnes & Noble Kitchen in New York.

STAMFORD, CT - From Harlan Social: Kerri Nelson is the new catering and assistant general manager at Harlan Social. Bringing more than ten years of combined experience in the restaurant and catering industry, Nelson will help oversee day-to-day operations at Harlan Social and arrange events from birthday parties to anniversaries to corporate functions.
Before joining Harlan Social, Nelson worked at Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor, NY as a dining room manager and catering manager. While at the golf club, Nelson developed unique ideas and worked with a team to coordinate a range of events from all day golf outings for Bernie Williams and Mariano Rivera to leading the arrangements for Amanda Miller’s wedding.
Nelson also opened the first Barnes & Noble restaurant in the country, Barnes & Noble Kitchen in New York, serving as a consultant and operations manager. While studying baking and pastry arts at the Culinary Institute of America, Nelson competed in the U.S. Pastry Competition as part of her internship at the Hyatt Regency. The Hyatt team of eight won the gold prize that year. Nelson holds a bachelor’s degree in food and beverage management with a concentration in hospitality accounting from Johnson and Wales University.
