Stamford School Board Member Receives Prestigious State Honor
She is one of less than 30 school board members across the state to be recognized by the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education.
STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Board of Education member, Betsy Allyn, was recently recognized as a "Certificated Board of Education Member" for the 2018-19 school year. She is one of only 26 board members across the state to be honored by the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) this year.
Allyn was recognized for "participating in numerous hours of board-related professional development activities," district officials said in a statement. To become a Certificated Board of Education Member, a member must accumulate at least 20 credits in professional development.
"On behalf of the entire board, I wish to congratulate our colleague, Betsy, on her achievement," Board President Andy George said in a statement. "She has proven herself to be a dedicated board member and demonstrated her commitment to continual learning."
