Brielle and Bryce Gold swim for the Stamford Sailfish Aquatic Club, which is supported by Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.

USA Swimming Top-10 Nationally Ranked Stamford residents and sisters, Brielle and Bryce Gold (ages 12 and 10, respectively), who swim out of the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford’s Yerwood Center, were once again crowned Connecticut State Swimming Champions during the CT Long Course Age Group Championship meet, which was held at Wesleyan University in late July.

The sisters swim for the Stamford Sailfish Aquatic Club, a first-year team, which is supported by The Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.

In addition, there were outstanding performances from Greenwich residents, Liam Flaherty, Kiernan Flaherty, David Ponce and Michelle Wiessler.

The newly reopened pool at the Yerwood Center is giving opportunities to Stamford residents in the forms of swim lessons, recreational programs, water safety lessons and access to competitive swimming as well.

“As a first-year team, working with our athletes, we set high expectations for success, and our swimmers readily accepted that hard work and perseverance would be required to achieve their goals,” remarked Stamford Sailfish Aquatic Club Head Coach, Connie Wu. “All of our swimmers worked exceedingly hard over the course of the season. Their hard work paid off at the right time. We are very proud of all that Brielle and Bryce accomplished this season.”
