STAMFORD, CT — The eyes of the world continue to be on Ukraine, where Russia began an invasion earlier this week.

Here locally in Stamford, Mayor Caroline Simmons offered support to the Ukrainian-American community in the wake of the most kinetic military action in Europe since World War II.

"Stamford is home to a large and vibrant Ukrainian-American community. Today, we are united and stand with the people of Ukraine as they face this unjustified and illegal war of aggression," Simmons said in a social media post on Thursday evening.
