Stamford Students To Sing National Anthem At Mets Game

More than 75 students and their families will be attending Monday's game, according to the Stamford Public Schools District.

STAMFORD, CT — The fourth and fifth-grade chorus from Davenport Ridge Elementary School is scheduled to perform the National Anthem on May 1 at Citi Field prior to the New York Mets game against the Atlanta Braves.

Monday will also be "weather education day" at Citi Field. The PIX 11 weather team will be at the ballpark conducting an interactive weather lesson before the game, which coincides with what Davenport Ridge students are studying.

Specifically, students in fourth and fifth-grade study and predict weather patterns in the classroom and inform the student body about the weather as part of morning announcements.

Monday night's game will be the back-end of a single admission doubleheader between the Mets and Braves, who were rained out on Sunday. The start time for game 2 is to be determined.
