STAMFORD, CT — Stamford middle school teacher and Fairfield native Benjamin Schwartz will advance as a semifinalist after winning the quarterfinal round of the Jeopardy! Teachers Tournament Friday night. Schwartz is still in the running for the $100,000 grand prize.

Schwartz risked all his $9,000 on a Daily Double and came out with $18,000 to give him a commanding lead.

He went into the final Jeopardy round with $22,000, which was more than double his next closest contestant. Even so he got the final Jeopardy question right, only risking $1.
