Stamford Traffic Alert: Expect Road Closures, Delays for Parade Saturday
Downtown streets will be closed for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.

If you’re planning on driving in downtown Stamford Saturday, remember the 20th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is scheduled to kick off at noon.
And road closures along the parade route will begin in the morning, according to Stamford Police.
The parade — with about 80 units — starts on Main Street at Summer Street, travels east to Atlantic Street, north across Broad Street and onto Bedford Street north to Walton Place.

The route itself will close approximately 11:30 a.m. but the staging area on Main Street from Washington Boulevard to Summer Street will close as early as 10:30 a.m., according to police.
For the first time, the parade will include a Family Zone in front of Veterans Memorial Park, offering children’s activities including face painting and entertaining clowns. Also, during and after the parade, local restaurants will be offering special food, drinks and Irish-themed vittles and grog to celebrate.
