Stamford Veterans Day Parade Grand Marshal Announced
Paul Lee will serve as the Grand Marshal for Stamford's Veterans Day Parade on Sunday, November 12th.

STAMFORD, CT - From the City of Stamford: Mayor David Martin and the Veterans Day Parade Committee today proudly announced that local veteran Corporal Paul R. Lee will be the 2017 Grand Marshal.
Cpl. Lee came to Stamford at the age of 6 and graduated from King School in 1947. Majoring in biology, Cpl. Lee attended and graduated from Waynesburg University in Pennsylvania. He retired after 25 years as Principal Research Specialist in the Specialist Research and Technical Services division of the Pepsi Cola Company.
Cpl. Lee joined the United States Army in 1951. He was stationed with the Third Division, 65th Infantry Regiment, Third Battalion. They participated in the last two major battles during the Korean War: “Hill 412” and “Outpost Harry.” For his actions and service, Cpl. Lee earned the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, a Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. Cpl. Lee was discharged in 1954 and has been a life-member of the Veterans’ of Foreign Wars Springdale. They plant over 4,000 American flags on Veteran’s graves annually and take part in the annual Poppy Drive.

In our community, Cpl. Lee is a 65-year member of the First Presbyterian Church, serving as Deacon as well as several other positions. He participated for 20 years in the Bennett Cancer Center benefit walk and run, and was a balloon handler for 14 years during the annual Stamford Balloon Parade.
As previously announced, the 2017 Veterans Day Parade will be held on Sunday, November 12 at 12:00 p.m. The parade will begin at the corner of Hoyt & Bedford, and head down Bedford, to Atlantic Street, ending at Veterans’ Park.
