Stamford Woman Arrested After Shots Fired In Norwalk: Police

Police said a Stamford woman was arrested and a firearm was recovered shortly after they received a report of shots fired in Norwalk.

STAMFORD, CT — A Stamford woman was arrested and a firearm was recovered shortly after police received a report of shots fired Monday night in Norwalk, according to the department.

In a news release, Norwalk Police Lt. Tomasz Podgorski said a caller reported shots fired on Ely Avenue around 8:30 p.m.

Police quickly drove to the area and relayed a description of the suspect and their vehicle to other officers. No injuries were reported, Podgorski said.

Officers found the vehicle near Ely Avenue and also recovered a firearm. After further investigation, detectives determined the incident was isolated "and domestic in nature," Podgorski said.

A 34-year-old Stamford woman was charged with criminal attempt at first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

Her bond was set at $150,000 and she is scheduled to appear in court this week, according to Podgorski.
