Stamford HS Receives Continued Accreditation Designation
The honor is from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

From SPS:Stamford Public Schools (SPS) announced today that the Committee on Public Secondary Schools of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) has recommended that Westhill High School (WHS) receive continued accreditation in the Association. The Committee's decision was based upon review of an evaluation report prepared by a visiting committee in October 2018
“We are pleased with the committee’s decision for continued accreditation and proud of the many commendations given to Westhill High School,” said Superintendent Earl Kim. “Among those, the committee commended the school on its principal’s efforts to increase communication with the community, the efforts of teachers to acquire and maintain expertise in their content areas and their safety protocols and drills.”
"The Committee's decision for continued accreditation is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our faculty and administration in preparing the self-study, as well as the experience of the visiting committees in October, said Westhill High School Principal Michael Rinaldi. “We have already begun to establish our priorities for further improvement in the areas identified by the committee.”

Although the committee has recommended WHS for accreditation, it also expressed concern regarding the school’s alignment to the “Standard on Community Resources for Learning” and has placed the school on warning in this category.
“As a Learning Organization, we will use the findings of the Committee to develop priorities for improvement in that area in particular,” said Kim. “In fact, the district has already started to address the facilities issues addressed by the report and will begin to implement valid recommendations from the report.”
