Tatiana 'Tanja' Paturynski, 91; Retired from Pitney Bowes; Immigrated to Stamford in 1950

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Aug. 19 with the funeral Mass scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 20.

Tatiana (Tanja) Paturynski, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, August 16, with her family by her side.

She was blessed with a wonderful life and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

Tanja was born September 6, 1923 in Kharkov, Ukraine to Julia and Neil Ivanova.

She is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Vincent Paturynski, in 1993.

The family came to the United States in 1950 where they settled in Stamford, and where she remained a resident for 66 years before moving to Brookdale Assisted Living in Wilton. She worked at Norma Hoffman in Stamford and then as a waitress at Pierre’s in New Canaan. She later retired from Pitney Bowes where she worked as a Dining Room Manager for 13 years.

She had a warm and giving heart. She was very devoted to her family and loved by all.

She is survived by her 3 children and their families, Nickolas Paturynski (Yvonne) of Wilton, Peter Paturynski of Thornton, CO and Mary Schubert of Trumbull. Known to her grandchildren as their beloved “Babci” are Stephen Paturynski, Laura Carreiro (Eli), David Schubert and Michael Schubert, along with her great-grandson Jackson Carreiro.

Her family would like to extend a very special thank you to all of the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living and Greenwich Hospital who took such wonderful care of Tanja.

Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 19 from 4 to 8pm at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave, Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 20 at 10am at St. Mary’s Holy Assumption Russian Orthodox Church, 141 Den Rd., Stamford. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, 25 Camp Ave. in Darien.
